After the announcement of Chairman of the Constitutional Council Igor Rogov, Nursultan Nazarbayev officially took office as head of state for his fifth five-year term. Kazakhstan held its presidential election on April 26 and some 8.83 million people voted for Nazarbayev, which is 97.75 percent of the votes.
