Riot-affected enterprises receive insurance payment

(VOVworld) – Insurance companies on Friday 6 made the first batch of payment to riot-affected enterprises in the southern province of Binh Duong.

A total of 114 billion VND was paid to 113 enterprises, including 87 Taiwanese and three Singaporean companies, four investors from Hong Kong and three investors from the Republic of Korea. Ken Teh, production manager of Esquel Garment Manufacturing company expressed thanks to the Vietnamese government and Binh Duong authorities for taking timely measures to help riot-affected enterprises resume operation: "We are quite happy with the response of the government. Representatives from Bao Viet insurance company already came to our factory 2 days after the incident to do assessment. They also worked very hard to clear the assessment so that we could resume our operation as soon as possible". 

Speaking on the occasion, Finance Minister Dinh Tien Dung reiterated the Vietnamese government’s resolve to ensure a safe and convenient investment environment for foreign investors.
