The Smer-Social Democracy of Prime Minister Robert Fico, which campaigned on an anti-migrant ticket, is leading with 30.5% of the vote.

The official results are expected to be announced on Sunday. More than 2,800 candidates of 23 parties have registered for the 150-seat parliamentary election. According to a number of previous surveys, the Smer-Social Democracy Party which is holding 83 seats can lose a majority in the new parliament following several corruption scandals in 2014 and a series of recent demonstrations by teachers and medical workers.
