The International Committee of the Red Cross on Sunday reported that the organization is waiting to receive safety guarantees from parties involved in the conflict in eastern Ukraine before letting the Russian aid trucks cross into the separatist-held territory. The Russian convoy includes 280 trucks carrying nearly 2,000 tons of supplies including safe water, food, medical equipment, sleeping bags, and electricity generators for people in eastern Ukraine. On the same day the ICRC delivered 100 tons of humanitarian goods from the Ukrainian government for citizens in 10 cities in the region – the hardest hit by clashes between government forces and federalist troops.
