(VOVworld)-The State Duma, Russia's lower house of parliament, on Friday passed a special statement to support Syrian pro-government faction and defend Moscow's stance of dialogues on the Syrian issue. VOV correspondent in Moscow reported that Russia's position in the United Nations, particularly in the Security Council, fully reflects Moscow's policy which calls for a peaceful settlement of the Syrian crisis through intra-Syrian dialogue. Russian parliamentarians urged the Arab League to actively participate in restoring peace in the region, lengthening the observers’ mission and facilitating involving parties to refuse the use of forces and immediately start designing mutually acceptable decisions based on constructive dialogue. Russia opposed the repetition of “Libya scenario” in Syria and firmly condemned interference by force in other countries' affairs. The Chairman of the State Duma said Russia was ready to send observers to Syria if requested.
