Putin said the Ukrainian authority is attempting to provoke violence and conflict in Crimea, which is filled with concern, adding that there is no point in holding planned peace talks in eastern Ukraine. Putin pledged to do everything he can to assure the security of infrastructure and citizens and will take additional security measures.
Ukrainian ambassador to the United Nations Volodymyr Yelchenko said Kiev will ask the UN Security Council to call an emergency meeting if current tensions continue to escalate.

In the meantime, Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko said Moscow’s accusations are "senseless and cynical" and once again accused Russia of military presence in Donbass. The Ukrainian foreign ministry said the incident was "a provocation organized by the Kremlin.".
