(VOVworld) - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev begins an official visit to Vietnam from April 5-7 to strengthen bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership. Both sides will review prior activities and boost cooperation in all areas.
The Prime Minister told the press that Russia has many initiatives and plans to promote strategic partnership with Vietnam, including a free trade agreement. He said oil and gas cooperation have yielded positive results.
Russian Zarubezhneft and Petro Vietnam have agreed on cooperation plan until 2030. Russia is willing to support Vietnam’s knowledge economy development and training of staff to operate the Ninh Thuan nuclear power plant.
Medvedev said Russia and Vietnam should cooperate more to promote tourism as Russia is one of top 10 countries in terms of tourists visiting Vietnam. He said he was pleased to visit Vietnam and glad to see a modern and dynamic Vietnam with unique culture and history.
