The meeting took place amid tensions between Russia and NATO over Eastern Ukraine but was a sign of thawing in the frozen relationship. The meeting brought out profound disagreements between Moscow and the US-led alliance on Ukraine and the future security of Europe.
NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said he wants another meeting at the ambassador level but didn’t mention an exact date.
