Sa Pa listed as national tourism site
(VOVWORLD) -The resort town of Sa Pa in Lao Cai province has been recognized as a national tourism site under a recent decision signed by the Prime Minister.

Located 350km northwest of Hanoi, Sa Pa is 1,600m above sea level, with an average temperature of 15-18°C. It boasts many natural scenic sites such as Ham Rong Mountain, the Silver Waterfall, Bamboo Forest and Ta Phin Cave. The hill town is home to six main ethnic minority groups with various traditional festivals and unique cultural practices, especially the Bac Ha market and Sa Pa love market.
Lao Cai welcomed more than 1.1 million tourists in the first quarter of this year, including nearly 230,000 foreigners. It aims to attract more than 6 million tourists and become a key tourism hub of the north western region by 2020.
