Scottish leader Sturgeon seeks any option to stop Brexit

(VOVWORLD) - Nicola Sturgeon, leader of the Scottish National Party (SNP), told the BBC on Thursday that her party and its 35 lawmakers will explore any option to stop Brexit in Parliament and did not rule out backing opposition Labor Party leader Jeremy Corbyn.

Sturgeon said the SNP could support Corbyn's plan to prevent a no-deal Brexit by becoming a caretaker Prime Minister but insisted that he must set out a clear position on Brexit.

On Wednesday, in a letter to pro-EU MPs, Corbyn noted the dire economic consequences of a no-deal Brexit and urged Parliament to conduct a no-confidence vote in Prime Minister Boris Johnson who has said he could live with a no-deal Brexit.
