SEA Games 32: Vietnam jumps to 2nd place in medal ranking

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam won 15 more gold medals on Monday to rank second in SEA Games 32’s medal tally with a total of 30 golds.

Notably, Pham Thi Phuong, Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai, Huynh Van Cuong, Ngo Duc Manh, and Tran Vo Song Thuong brought home 6 gold medals in Kun Bokator. 

Track and field athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh pocketed a gold medal in the women's 5,000m with a record of 17 minutes and 0.28 seconds. 

Tran Nhat Hoang, Nguyen Thi Hang, Tran Dinh Son, and Nguyen Thi Huyen obtained another gold medal for Vietnam in the mixed 4 × 400 metres relay event with a record of 3 minutes and 20.19 seconds. 

Swimmer Tran Hung Nguyen grasped a gold medal in the 400m individual medley with a record of 4 minutes and 19.12 seconds.

In the men's 1,500m freestyle event, Nguyen Huy Hoang won the gold medal. 

Vietnamese athletes also bagged gold medals in Katate, Vovinam, and gymnastics.

Host Cambodia topped the medal tally with 37 gold medals and Thailand ranked third with 28 golds.
