(VOVworld) – An art exchange program opened in Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday to review 4 years of a charity campaign called “Sentimental attachment to Truong Son trail” run by Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper. Over the past 4 years, the organizing board has raised approximately 6.6 million USD to build more than 1,300 houses in 44 provinces. The board has built and inaugurated 2 monuments to commemorate martyrs who died on the Truong Son battlefield.

To acknowledge these achievements, President Truong Tan Sang awarded third-class Labor Order to the leaders of the newspaper, including Trần Thế Tuyển – former editor-in-chief and former head of the program’s organizing board – and Nguyễn Đức Quang – deputy head of the steering committee of the organizing board. Vietnam’s prime minister awarded certificates of merit to outstanding collectives and individuals.

The art exchange featured special songs and performance praising the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, the homeland, and the Vietnamese people.
