Series of blasts leave 110 dead in Iraq

Iraqi security officials said a wave of attacks across Iraq on Monday killed nearly 110 people and wounded 200 others, making it the deadliest day in more than two years.

No organizations have claimed responsibility for the attacks, but Al-Qaeda warned that it will continue carrying out new attacks to reclaim their previous strongholds. The attacks were launched in 18 cities, including the capital of Baghdad. The bloodiest attack took place in Taji, a town 25 km north of Baghdad, in which 18 people were killed and 29 wounded by a suicide attack and a car bomb.
