(VOVWORLD) - Slovakia has assumed the presidency of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) from January 1 and will preside over the organization throughout 2019.
Resolution of protracted conflicts and their prevention in the OSCE space are the top priorities of the Slovak 2019 OSCE Presidency. Presidency of the organization is held for a year and is based on a rotation.
Slovakia’s Foreign Ministry released a statement saying that it will organize the OSCE Ministerial Council Meeting, the biggest event in the modern history of Slovakia, in December with the participation of 70 delegations.
The country will host a range of international conferences on anti-Semitism, extremism, economics, environment, cyber security, security reform and management.
