Many people expressed their emotions at Mr. Vu Khoan's great contributions to national development.

“Mr. Vu Khoan was a bright example of hard work and simple lifestyle. Right before going to the hospital every day, he called me to ask about the situation in the Middle East to finalize an article he wrote for the People's Army Newspaper. This shows he had worked until the last minute before he died.”

“The biggest contribution of Mr. Vu Khoan is probably in the field of international integration. When the country was in a difficult and transitional period, he was assigned the task of adding Vietnam's membership to ASEAN, APEC, ASEM and especially WTO, improving relations with many countries, including the signing trade agreements with the US and other countries.”

“What Mr. Vu Khoan did for the Vietnamese State and people is huge.”

Mr. Vu Khoan was known as a pioneer in Vietnam’s reform, innovation, and international integration process. He left valuable negotiation experiences and impressed his colleagues with his talent, strategic vision and working methods.
