The Central Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control has asked localities to closely follow rain and flood development and monitor reservoirs and areas of potential landslide and flash flood in order to promptly evacuate people.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat talked at a meeting of the Committee in Phu Yen on Sunday.

We now focus on dealing with flood and supporting people to prevent floods. Localities have regularly suffered from floods after the storms. Floods swept away houses and caused human casualties. Localities should arrange functional forces to guard and instruct people to avoid traveling through dangerous places.” Mr. Phat said.
