(VOVworld)- A national conference on anti-corruption ended in Hanoi on Monday. Addressing the closing ceremony, Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong stressed the need to fine-tune Party regulations on corruption prevention and control and revise laws on socio-economic management to combat corruption. The Party leader pointed out necessary actions to fight corruption: “Based on the Party regulations and resolutions, it is necessary to specify and improve internal regulations of the Party to gradually establish a synchronous and scientific system of regulations on combating corruption. We also need to systemize principles and codes of ethics of party members and leaders of Party committees to promote their leading role in anti-corruption. In 2014 and the following years, it’s important to fine tune mechanisms, policies and laws to address shortcomings in socio-economic management”.

The Party leader stressed the importance of strengthening communications and educational activities to raise awareness about anti-corruption among officials, party members and the public. He said it was necessary to step up supervision and inspections activities and include anti-corruption in annual supervision programs. Trong said:“The Party Central Committee’s Commissions for Communications and Education needs to cooperate with relevant agencies to assist the Party, State and Fatherland Front to work out anti-corruption communications plans. We also need to honour and reward those who detect and report corruption cases as well as good experiences in fighting corruptions”.

The Party leader expressed his belief that with achieved results and experience in fighting corruption over the past years and with strong determination of the Party, people and the whole political system, more progress will be achieved in the fight against corruption.
