(VOVworld) – A suicide bomb blasted outside a Nigerian government building in the northeastern city of Maiduguri killed at least five people on Thursday and injured nineteen others.

Witnesses said the attack occurred at the gate of the building where many government agencies set up their headquarters.

The Islamic extremist group Boko Haram is the prime suspect in the attack. The Nigerian military has regained control of much territory from Boko Haram, who has carried out car bombings targeting civil targets such as markets, mosques, and bus stations.
