A senior official in Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's ruling party said that the Syrian government is ready to participate in the negotiations but Damascus should be provided with a list of terrorist groups who are banned from the meeting and the names of Syrian opposition figures expected to join the talks.

Staffan de Mistura, a UN special envoy to Syria, said Syrian opposition groups, who are backed by France, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Qatar, are undermining efforts for a political solution to the Syrian crisis.
