Around 4,500 anti-government protesters marched from their encampment at Bangkok's Lumpini Park after Mr. Suthep called for a rally to establish a new government. Before leading a march to Government House, Suthep said they would regain their sovereign power and set up a people’s government and legislative council. Hundreds of police were mobilized to watch over the rallies. The demonstration took place 2 days after the Thai Constitutional Court ruled for the removal of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and 9 cabinet members on charges of abuse of power and constitutional violations.
