Somchai Srisutthiyakorn, who is in charge of election management, said the Thai parliament will convene in September and a new government will be formed in October. The EC is scheduled to meet representatives of 70 political parties on April 22 to gather opinions on the new election date. Somchai said that multiple measures will be adopted to secure candidate registration, so there should be no reason for the new election to be nullified as the February 2 election was.
