The US hails tripartite summit among Japan, RoK, China

(VOVworld) – The US welcomes the meeting of the leaders of Japan, the Republic of Korea, and China in Seoul, said Elizabeth Trudeau, Director of the Department of State’s Press Office. Ms. Trudeau told a press briefing on Monday that Washington supports efforts to improve relations among the three countries. She added that the US believes strong and constructive relations between South Korea, Japan, and China support regional peace and prosperity, which serves US interests and those of the region.
Regarding the Japan-South Korea meeting, Ms. Trudeau said the US welcomes reports that President Park and Prime Minister Abe agreed to accelerate their efforts to resolve this sensitive issue.
