(VOVworld)- Thousands of people are taking to the streets in Germany to protest against the US surveillance of Internet users. Protesters, responding to calls by “stop watching us” organization,  held placards showing support for National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden in demonstrations in more than 30 cities. German opposition parties criticized the ruling alliance’s ways of handling the surveillance program and expressed skepticism of the government’s claim that it had known nothing about the surveillance.
