Top legislator visits key projects in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province

(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue made a fact-finding visit to several key projects in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau on Tuesday, including the Southern Petrochemical Complex project.

The 5.1 billion USD Complex, which commenced construction in 2018, is invested by the SCG Group of Thailand. Chairman Hue said that the Complex, when operational, will significantly contribute to growth, employment, and local budget revenue. 

The National Assembly and the Government of Vietnam are committed to maintaining the most favorable and competitive investment and business environment for both domestic and foreign investors, he noted.

"Importance is attached to resolving difficulties, enhancing labor productivity and the competitiveness of the economy, and streamlining administrative procedures. We are ready to help the economies of Thailand and Vietnam to overcome challenges and continue to develop at a high pace in the future, in line with the strategic objectives set by both countries,” the National Assembly Chairman said.

Chairman Hue also inspected construction of the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway. The 700 million USD road is scheduled to be completed in 2025 and put into operation in 2026.

Working with Ba Ria-Vung Tau leaders, Mr. Hue suggested the province focus on 4 economic pillars: industry; sea port and logistics; tourism and urban development; and service.
