Trump delays declaration of emergency
(VOVWORLD) - US President Donald Trump said he will delay declaring a national emergency to end the 23-day partial closure of the US government, the longest government shutdown in US history.

Trump said he wants to give the Democrats more time to agree to 5.7 billion USD in funding to build a wall on the Mexican border. Trump’s proposed border wall has become a bone of contention between Republicans and Democrats which has led to the shutdown of a number of federal agencies whose funding ended on December 21, 2018.
