Erdogan pledged that the government will continue working until they get the last citizen out of the destroyed buildings. He said tens of thousands of buildings collapsed in the earthquake, and warned the government to impose tougher construction regulations.

Rescue workers found nine more survivors after more than 200 hours being buried in the rubble. Rescuers are rushing against time with a hope to save more lives.

A week after the earthquake, Turkey gradually turned to care for people without shelter or food in the cold weather.
Meanwhile, UN officials said the rescue phase in Syria is about to end and they will focus on providing shelter, food, and education.
