UK Foreign Secretary visits HCM City

(VOVworld) – Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City’s municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong told Philip Hammond, UK Foreign Secretary, that his visit to Vietnam is an opportunity to improve bilateral investment and trade relations.

Phong said the UK now ranks eighth among countries and territories investing in HCM city and bilateral trade hit 875 million USD in 2015.
The British Business Association has 450 members who have contributed sizably to Vietnam-UK trade ties. Philip Hammond said he believes in Vietnam’s and HCM city’s economic growth in the future. British business-people appreciated the local administration’s support and said they wished to continue the good relationship. Both side pledged to continue to invest in urban infrastructure, education, and social security in HCM city.
