Ukraine spends 60 million USD on military equipment

(VOVworld) - Ukraine's Defense Ministry has announced a plan to buy arms and military equipment with 60 million USD by the end of this year. This announcement came after Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed a decree increasing the Defense Ministry’s budget to 3% of GDP and strengthening Ukraine’s army and defense sector.

The government’s decision to increase funding for the Defense Ministry and purchase additional military hardware follows heightened tensions in east Ukraine. Although a ceasefire has been in effect since September 5, conflicts occur every day between the army and Ukrainian separatists.
