(VOVworld) - Marta Santos Pais, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General on Violence against Children, expressed her delight over progress Vietnam has made in protecting children.

She told reporters on Wednesday, the last day of her visit to Vietnam, that Vietnam’s adoption of the revised Law on Child Protection, Care, and Education and its effective social workers network play an important role in preventing violence against children.  The UN official said in the UN’s One Strategic Plan 2017-2021, member countries vow to help the Vietnamese government improve the national child protection system, raise public awareness of violence against children, and provide data and share experience in child protection and care.
