UN representative says Sudan situation reaching “breaking point”

In light of the rapidly deteriorating humanitarian crisis in Sudan, the UN Secretary-General has sent Martin Griffiths, to Sudan to seek for measures to help millions of people affected by the conflict. Griffiths said that they are extremely concerned by the immediate, as well as long-term impact on all people in Sudan and the broader region.

Armed clashes between Sudan’s military forces and paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have killed at least 528 people and injured 4,600 others.

The World Food Program (WFP) warned that conflict could push millions more into starvation together with more than 15 million people were already facing severe food insecurity prior to the conflict.
