One day earlier, Russia proposed a daily three-hour ceasefire in Aleppo, starting Thursday, to allow humanitarian convoys to enter the city safely. Russia’s Defense Ministry said from 10.00 to 13.00 (local time), all military hostilities, aviation strikes and artillery strikes by the Russian army will be halted.

But, UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura said the proposal is not enough, and UN humanitarian adviser Jan Egeland said a 48-hour pause is needed to ensure safe deliveries.
