Opposition leader Qadri Jamil, head of Syria’s Popular Front for Peace and Liberation, and a representative of Moscow-Kair, said the meeting lasted for 2 hours and both sides expressed their views on any political transition in Syria. The Moscow-Kair group gave Mistura their views on the 12 regulation draft compiled by the UN Special Envoy to resolve the crisis in the previous negotiation. Jamil said Moscow-Kair basically agreed on the draft’s resolution.

In Geneva, a spokesman for the High Negotiations Committee, Salim al-Muslat, said syria’s main opposition group was willing to share membership of a transitional governing body with current members of the government of President Bashar al-Assad, but not Assad himself.
