On Wednesday, the Colombian media quoted the UN’s release saying that representatives of the international organization will help to start the discussion on the monitoring and verification system.

The announcement came as Mr. Feltman wrapped up a two-day visit to Colombia, which included a meeting with President Juan Manuel Santos on Tuesday to discuss the peace process.

Established in 1964, the FARC is considered the biggest armed force in Colombia. Five decades of internal conflict has, so far, claimed the lives of about 220,000 people.
