(VOVWORLD) - US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Thursday announced a new high-level team to increase international diplomatic and economic pressure on Iran.

The group will be responsible for directing, reviewing, and coordinating all aspects of the State Department’s Iran-related activity. Pompeo announced that Brian Hook, who has served as the Director of Policy Planning, will lead the group with the formal title of Special Representative for Iran.
