(VOVworld) – The US resolutely opposes any nation's use of intimidation, coercion, or the threat of force to assert claims of sovereignty. US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel spoke at Asian Security Summit, known as 13^th Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore on Friday.

He told the Chinese senior military delegation at the summit that “"In recent months, China has undertaken destabilizing, unilateral actions asserting its claims in the East Sea”. Chuck Hagel said the US would "not look the other way" when nations ignored international rules. He also reiterated US commitments for its Asian allies and friends, calling for peaceful solutions to address international disputes.
