US hopes DPRK will respond positively to outreach for dialogue
(VOVWORLD) - The United States continues to hope that the Democratic Republic of Korea (DPRK) will respond positively to its outreach for dialogue, a State Department spokesperson said Tuesday.

During press briefing on Tuesday, Ned Price said the US is ready and willing to meet with the DPRK without any preconditions. His remarks come amid a growing view that the Joe Biden administration may have returned to the so-called "strategic patience" approach of the Obama administration.
Price said the US will continue to consult closely with the Republic of Korea, Japan, and other allies and partners about how it might engage the DPRK.
The DPRK has remained unresponsive to US overtures since the Biden administration took office in January. It has also stayed away from denuclearization negotiations since 2019.
