They accused the Russian General Staff Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) of using the WikiLeaks, DCLeaks.com, and Guccifer 2.0 to release US political parties’ data. This was a full report by the US Intelligence officials following President Obama’s order last December, following a doubt that Russia intervened in the US presidential election.

After the report was released, many Democrats said the document is reasonable for a strong response to avoid a similar incident.
President-elect Donald Trump downplayed Russia's role in the election after a briefing with top US intelligence officials. He said he will appoint a team within 90 days to figure out ways to stop foreign hacking.

Russia has denied all allegations of the US government on its hacking at the US election.
