(VOVworld) - US President Barack Obama on Monday began an official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of President Tran Dai Quang.

Following the official welcoming ceremony, Mr. Obama met with President Tran Dai Quang who afterward chaired a joint press conference. Later, President Obama met with National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan. He will also have seprate meetings with Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
President Obama and Vietnam’s top leaders are discussing ways to boost the Vietnam-US comprehensive partnership and cooperation in economics, people-to-people exchanges, and human rights.
