President Biden is accompanied by Secretary of State Antony Blinken, US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc E. Knapper, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry, among others.

After 28 years of establishing diplomatic relations and 10 years of the Comprehensive Partnership, Vietnam and the US have witnessed great strides in their bilateral ties, which has been developing deeply, substantially and comprehensively in all important areas, bilaterally, regionally and internationally, actively contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and sustainable development in the region and the world.

The outstanding outcomes of the Vietnam-US bilateral relationship over the past nearly three decades provide the basis to affirm that the State visit of President Biden to Vietnam will be another significant milestone in the two countries’ joint journey for peace, stability, cooperation and sustainable development for the region and the world.

Former US Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel told a VOV correspondent in the US that President Biden’s visit to Vietnam is of great importance, saying the way for countries to develop relations and mutual trust is exchanging visits and increasing contacts between leaders. He said this time, President Biden visits Vietnam and meets Vietnamese leaders and people. This is very important because it shows that the US President and the US want a closer, a stronger relationship with and better understanding of the Vietnamese people and further cooperation in potential areas of the two countries.

American researchers and scholars said over the past years, the Vietnam-US relation has grown in multiple areas. They believed that there will be more opportunities to further the Vietnam-US ties.
