US says talks with China are vital
(VOVWORLD) -Principal deputy spokesman of the US State Department Vedant Patel said it is important to maintain open lines of communication with China.

Speaking to the press on Tuesday, Mr. Patel said Washington's basic policy will not be affected by the Chinese Foreign Minister being replaced.
Earlier, the Standing Committee of China’s National People's Congress appointed Mr. Wang Yi as China’s Foreign Minister to replace Mr. Qin Gang. Qin Gang served as Chinese Foreign Minister from 2013 to 2022.
US and Chinese high-level officials resumed meetings recently to ease the tension in bilateral relations.
