US-backed SDF hands over IS fighters to Iraq
(VOVWORLD) - US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) delivered to Iraq 280 Iraqi and other IS detainees in recent days, Iraq’s military said in a statement on Sunday.

Among the 280 were 14 French citizens and six Arabs of unspecified nationality. It’s unclear if the non-Iraqi detainees will remain in Iraqi custody.
Iraq declared victory over IS in 2017, after its forces drove them out of several areas they had controlled since 2014.
