Since the annual survey began in 1995, no countries the same size as Vietnam have been able to level up so quickly, the Foundation said.

Among the 12 criteria of the Index of Economic Freedom, Vietnam scored especially high in Public Expenditure, National Budget, Providing Tax Relief, Free Trade, and Monetary Freedom. Vietnam is considered a country with low taxes, healthy public finances, and reasonable and moderate government spending.
