Vietnam active in fighting COVID-19, reviving economy

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam has actively cooperated with the international community to fight COVID-19, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang said Thursday.

As the pandemic causes mounting damage on a global scale, Vietnam has worked with other countries and organizations, including ASEAN and UN agencies, participated in many exchange mechanisms at all levels and attended high-level bilateral and multilateral phone conferences.

Hang said Vietnam recently held phone discussions with the US, Japan, the Republic of Korea, India, Australia, and New Zealand to discuss COVID-19, sharing experience in controlling the pandemic, cooperating to protect citizens, providing medical supplies and humanitarian aid, maintaining transportation and trade, and creating of the best possible conditions for post-COVID-19 economic recovery.

The spokesperson said Vietnam believes that through cooperation and discussion mechanisms and with a constructive and responsible spirit, the world will soon defeat the pandemic and restore economic growth.
