Vietnam Airlines moves operation to new terminal at China’s Baiyun airport

(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam Airlines Corporation announced on Wednesday that it will switch operations from Terminal T1 to Terminal T2 at Baiyun International Airport in China’s Guangzhou city to improve its service.

The new 880,000-square-meter terminal, one of the largest terminals in China, can serve 45 million visitors per year.

Vietnam Airlines will offer fast-track services for Golden Lotus members with Platinum membership status and business-class passengers.

A 4,200-square-meter business-class waiting lounge on the fourth floor will serve Golden Lotus members and business-class passengers starting next Saturday.

Other airlines operating at the T2 terminal include China Southern Airlines, Air France, China Airlines, Aeroflot, and Korean Air.

Vietnam Airlines operates three direct flights from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang city to Guangzhou – 17 flights per week. Last year, Vietnam Airlines carried nearly 1 million passengers to Guangzhou, up nearly 28 percent from the previous year.
