Vietnam, Brunei to boost bilateral ties

(VOVworld) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh had a meeting with Myanmar’s Foreign Minister, Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, on Friday on the sidelines of the 47th ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting (AMM) in Naypyitaw, Myanmar. The two leaders exchanged ideas for boosting friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Brunei, including those to implement both countries’ signed cooperative agreements.

The Deputy Prime Minister also suggested both sides increase visit exchanges at all levels while boosting cooperation in defense and security, culture, education, tourism, labor, and agriculture, as well as fix a date for the 1st meeting of Vietnam-Brunei bilateral cooperation committee later this year. Both sides also discussed regional and international issues of mutual concern, including the East Sea situation.
