Vietnam, Cambodia should support each other’s legitimate interests: PM

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has said Vietnam and Cambodia should strengthen their solidarity and friendship and support each other’s legitimate interests to contribute to regional and global peace and development.

At Wednesday’s reception for First Vice President of the Cambodian Senate Nay Pena in Hanoi, Mr. Phuc asked both sides to work harder to swiftly raise bilateral trade to 5 billion USD. He underlined the need to enhance coordination among relevant agencies to complete land border demarcation and border marker planting, thereby helping to build a shared border of peace, friendship, cooperation and development. On ASEAN’s 50th anniversary, Prime Minister Phuc expressed his wish that Vietnam and Cambodia will continue to contribute to ASEAN’s development.

The guest said his visit confirms the two countries’ sound relationship and briefed his host on his talks with Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Tong Thi Phong, with whom he shared experiences in economic development and parliamentary cooperation.
