Vietnam, Cambodian Prime Ministers attend border marker inauguration ceremonies

(VOVworld) – Border marker 30 connecting Vietnam’s Gia Lai province and Cambodia’s Ratanakiri province was inaugurated on Saturday in the presence of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hunsen.

Prime Minister Dung said this event will help improve border control and promote exchanges and cooperation between the two countries and their localities. He said: “Border marker 30 at the Le Thanh-Oyadav international border checkpoint will help people of the two countries and international visitors understand more about our traditional friendship and solidarity. We appreciate efforts by the two countries’ joint committee on border delineation and marker planting and relevant agencies and localities in recent years.”

Cambodian Prime Minister Hunsen said he hopes the two countries will soon complete border delineation and marker planting in line with international law. He said: “Today’s event will contribute significantly to building a joint border of peace, friendship, cooperation, and comprehensive development. This border marker is evidence of close cooperation between the two countries.”

The two Prime Ministers attended the inauguration of another border marker between Vietnam’s An Giang province and Cambodia’s Ta Keo province the same day.
