Vietnam certain to lead medal count before SEA Games end
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese athletes won 181 gold, 106 silver, and 106 bronze medals to maintain the top spot in the standings as of Saturday. Thailand ranked second with 75 gold medals. On the last day of the competition, Sunday, 61 sets of medals will be awarded, which means that host Vietnam has secured the top position, while the rank of other participating countries can still change.
More importantly, Vietnam is well on its way to break the record of 194 gold medals set by Indonesia as the host of the 19th SEA Games in 1997.
