Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Hiep said that the One Planet Network is an open partnership chaired by the United Nations Environment Program, aiming to promote sustainable consumption and production.

He said that Vietnam will demonstrate at the conference its commitment to being a transparent, responsible, and sustainable food supplier. It also shows that Vietnam is a responsible member in global issues including food and energy security, climate change and emerging pandemics.

"Vietnam is responsible not only for itself but also for the world’s food security. Moving toward green, clean, responsible production is in response to the Prime Minister’s commitment of net zero emissions by 2050 at COP26. To realize the commitment, agriculture should play its role," said Mr. Hiep.

The event, which will be co-organized by the MARD and the United Nations’ SFS program, will examine major barriers related to the transformation of food systems and put forward actionable recommendations, focusing on the global model of the food system, national and local policies and governance, production and consumption models, and implementation methods.
