Throughout its term, Vietnam, along with several other countries, proposed initiatives and solutions addressing critical UN issues such as international maritime law, water security, crimes against humanity, equal access to justice, epidemic prevention and control, universal health coverage, tuberculosis, and reforming UNGA’s operation.

Vietnam chaired UNGA when it passed a resolution asking the International Court of Justice to provide advisory opinions on climate change and resolutions on organising a high-level meeting on epidemic readiness.

Vietnam also helped UNGA’s President conduct the daily business of the UN, including responding to major events and holding special sessions, as well as coordinating discussions and negotiations to develop documents and processes for the long-term strategic orientation of the UN.
